Written for the 2003 OVFF "Blue Moon" Songwriting Contest, this just seemed one of those obvious ideas... in one of those themes I can't seem to leave alone.
Blue moon,
When Smurfy werewolves attack,
And Gargamel is their snack,
They Smurfed the flesh off his back.
Blue moon,
It doesn't happen too often,
But when it does, Smurfs start coughin',
And howling as their bones soften.
And then suddenly they stood before me,
A hundred blue werewolves two inches high,
I heard myself whisper, "Please ignore me,
Or else, someone, quick, teach me to fly!"
Blue moon,
Now I'm no longer alone,
The Smurfs claimed me for their own,
I've shrunk -- or maybe they've grown.
They've got more seeds and berries than Burpee,
They've got one song -- it's stuck in my brain,
They've got only one adjective -- "Smurfy",
They've got me going insane.
Blue moon,
At last I'm cured of being blue,
Since I was bitten anew...
By a Were-Pikachu.
