George And Al

The beauty of this one is I wrote
it at ConClave 2000, about two-and-a-half weeks before the Presidential election.
A man walks down the street, he says,
Why am I stuck in the middle, now?
Why am I stuck in the middle? Both
Ends are pushing me away.
Don't need no gas released from
Strategic gas reserve,
Don't need no massive tax cuts,
I don't need nothing that'll
Swerve, swerve, attention from the details,
Facts and figures might be important,
They've got the nerve, the nerve, to bludgeon us with out-of-context
Trivia or stupefy with slogans off a bumper sticker.
If you want a President,
Not a techno-dweeb or frat boy pal,
Look for someone better, 'cause, right now, gang, your choice is down to
George... and... Al.
Nah-nah-nah-na-nah, nah-nah-nah-nah-na-nah-nah...
A man walks into a booth, he says,
I gotta pull down the lever,
One little pull of the lever,
One giant leap off a cliff.
Can't vote for Pat Buchanan,
Brown shirts are out of style,
Can't vote for Ralphie Nader --
Who wants the laws made by your
Dad? Your Dad? "Be home before curfew,
Always chew your food an hour before swimming" --
I'll go mad, mad, trying to choose the lesser evil,
Well, I don't know 'bout you, but, I'd give eight more years to Clinton.
If you want a President,
Try Jesse, or that Hillary gal,
I'd vote for Martin Sheen If I could keep the White House far away from
George... and... Al.
